The Greater Latrobe Lady Wildcats did what many thought was a long shot. A first year Head Coach on a team with very little varsity experience was able to go 11-11 overall, and 6-6 in 5A Section 3. This record earned the Lady Wildcats the Number 12 Seed in the 2024 WPIAL 5A Playoffs. With this ranking the Lady Wildcats will have to travel to Kittanning to play a very tough opponent, the Armstrong River Hawks. The River Hawks will be heading into playoffs with a 13-game win streak, and with standout Senior Guard Emma Paul. Paul averages 21 points per game and is a dominate force inside the paint.

However, the Lady Wildcats will be heading into this game with momentum and talent as well. A strong win over Section rival Penn-Trafford, and a nice swim afterwards to celebrate, means that the Lady Wildcats are feeling the confidence that Coach Livingston preached during the preseason. Along with consistent and strong performances by Seniors Belle Blossey and Addison Toy, Senior Guard Elle Snyder is going into Kittanning with a historic season under her belt. Snyder added her name to the history books TWICE this season by scoring her 1,000th point at Oakland Catholic on January 18th, and broke the Girls Double-Double record during their game at Connellsville on January 29th (talk about starting off the year right).

Regardless of who you think will come out victorious, it’s clear that both the Lady Wildcats and the River Hawks have earned their place in the playoffs, and both will be ready to rumble. Tip-off is scheduled to start at 7:00 P.M. and our Saint Vincent College Pregame Show will start at 6:45 P.M. As mentioned in previous posts, The Wildcats Network is required to broadcast all of our games to the NFHS Network, due to the Broadcasting Rights Agreement that they signed with the WPIAL over the summer in 2023. We understand that signing up and paying for a membership to watch high school sports is not very enticing for those who wish to support the student athletes, so we always encourage parents to be in attendance at these events, but if you cannot make the trip to Armstrong Senior High School and still want to watch the livestream then we advise that you visit various local businesses that support our streams. We will be posting where you can watch on our Gameday post.

For the safety of our viewers, we advise that you do not follow any links that are not promoted by The Wildcats Network. There are many terrible people that will post fake livestream links to try and steal your money, so please do not follow any links that are not promoted by The Wildcats Network. You will be able to find our livestream link on our various social media accounts and on our website. Thank you again for all of the public support, and we wish Coach Mackenzie Livingston and the Lady Wildcats the best of luck at Armstrong High School. GO WILDCATS!!!!!
